CITIZENSHIP MENTOR
Help someone prepare for the citizenship test by meeting with her to practice English and the possible civics questions on the exam. Everyone who takes the test needs to be able to read, write and speak a few basic sentences in English and answer at least six (6) out of ten (10) civics questions. This position requires a 2-3 month commitment.
HOTLINE VOLUNTEER
Answer questions about citizenship and refer callers to appropriate services. People call our citizenship hotline from all over the state, and can leave messages in their own language. We strive to answer these calls in the caller’s language and need volunteers who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, and Somali.
OUTREACH VOLUNTEER
Help promote events and services of WNA. Communicate with partners and help recruit new partners across the state. Provide assistance with distribution of promotional materials and outreach events such as citizenship workshops and informational sessions.
WNA INTERN
This position is intended for someone who wants to gain direct, practical experience working in a non-profit. The position includes components of all the volunteer positions above, plus direct involvement in many aspects fundamental the organization of the WNA program.
